The Colorado Medical Society is seeking volunteers to serve on a new committee that will have oversight of three of the new strategic goals adopted by the Board of Directors in 2011. The Committee on Physician Practice Evolution (CPPE) will play a major role in the development of CMS policy and implementation of strategic initiatives around these goals:
Physician Well Being - Ensure physicians thrive personally and professionally throughout their careers in an evolving health care system;
Health Care System Evolution - Health care system innovation will result in access to high quality, cost-effective care for patients and their communities; and
Turning Data into Intelligence - By owning, using and sharing data, physicians will both improve care and demonstrate their ability to provide high quality and cost-effective care.
Charge: The committee shall study issues related to the evolving health care system and how such changes affect the ability of physicians to deliver accessible, high quality, cost-effective patient care in an economically sustainable manner. Such issues shall include but not be limited to patient engagement, delivery system redesign, payment reform, physician wellness, health information technology, health information exchange, administrative simplification and the use of business and patient outcomes data to improve individual and system performance.
Physicians interested in serving on this committee should complete the questionnaire available here and return it via email to naftali_kramish@cms.org or via fax to 720-859-7509 by May 20, 2011. The first meeting of the committee will be in early June. If you have questions, please contact Chet Seward at chet_seward@cms.org or Marilyn Rissmiller at marilyn_rissmiller@cms.org.
